🧮 THE BOARD FOOT FORMULA
One Board Foot is a volume of wood measuring 144 cubic inches. The standard formula used by lumber yards is: (Thickness in inches × Width in inches × Length in feet) ÷ 12.
🪵 LINEAR FEET VS BOARD FEET
Linear Feet only measures the length of the board, regardless of how thick or wide it is. Board Feet measures the total volume. Lumber is almost always priced by volume (Board Foot).
